Background:

Every year tens of thousands of volunteers remove and collect data on tons of debris from hundreds of miles of shorelines across New York State as part of the annual NY State Beach Cleanup.

Purpose:

  • To clean the beach and document what litters our shores
  • To compile data that will be used for devising strategies to combat pollution
  • To increase public participation in addressing pollution
  • To increase public awareness and appreciation of the coastal environment

Important Information:

Meet at 10 AM in Jones Beach Parking Field # 10 at the fishing piers.
