Dr. Brett Branco From Brooklyn College Urban Marine Science: A 10-Year Retrospective Since arriving at Brooklyn College 10 years ago, Brett Branco has been introducing high school students, college students and teachers to the urban estuary in their back yard. Engaging students in authentic marine science research is a transformational experience for both teachers and students in urban settings. Brett will share his experiences researching microplastics, marine debris, and water quality in New York City, and discuss future opportunities for partnerships between K-12 and higher education Side dishes and desserts are welcomed and appreciated. Take either Van Brunt Street all the way toward the water, to Fairway, or take Columbia Street toward IKEA, and it turns into Hacket Street, by IKEA. It turns right and becomes Beard Street. Make a left onto Van Brunt Street and follow it down to Fairway. Make a right turn into Fairway's Parking lot. The barge is across the street. The gate may be open for additional parking over the weekend. If not park in Fairway. There is a small pedestrian gate to get to the large red barge.
