NYSMEA is returning to Southampton for our 51st anniversary and our 45th annual conference! This year's theme is Community Currents: Coastal Learning Powered by Traditional Knowledge and Innovation.
The day will start with a variety of morning field trips to choose from, including a guided birding beach walk and a 90-minute boat ride led by Chris Paparo, Southampton's Marine Sciences Center Manager.
Other highlights include a keynote from Ellen Pikitch on E-DNA, a Pathways to Marine Careers panel with participation from NYC DEP, Dolphin Defenders, Save the Great South Bay, the Billion Oyster Project and NY Waterway, plus student posters, exhibitors and two afternoon workshop sessions.
